Proverberly Yours - Anger Blows Out The Lamp Of The Mind

I have started a new project that is based on a previous uni project called ‘Proverbly Yours.’ I came about this work by accident because my silly scanner and printer was playing up and I got some interesting effects. I had previously experimented with scanning in typography but this time I seemed to have achieved a stronger piece of design. 

This type of effect I have been playing with is a micro trend that is going around at the moment in graphic design. I read a small article in the Computer Arts magazine that talked about how this type of typography is popular due to the reaction of the media and the political unrest of the world around us. The article expresses that it is good to use and design around errors that you make because you can get some very interesting effects. 

I want to make a small newspaper filled with proverbs that explore the problems we see today that is heavily blown out of proportion by the media. I am looking at the 2011 riots where closed minded people took to the street in a series of copy cat riots. 

I am pretty excited about this idea, and I am glad that motivation has finally hit me because I feel it is about time for me to step out of my comfort zone.
